Stunning film. Ridley creates an seemingly idyllic life for Ashley Judd and Viggo Mortensen and then reminds us you can't escape the past or avoid the present as he tears it apart. Multi-layered story that really deserves an analysis as opposed to a review. Suffice it to say that is beautifully filmed, scored, and acted. Very well done, touching and worth seeing.

A great little Lynchian film charged with sexual tension, religious terror and wonderful acting.

this is a truly beautiful, tragic and funny movie. the silver shoe is just wondrous! It is beautifully shot, and is really odd like a strange faerie tale. Though, I was a bit disappointed when some things were explained (like the silver shoe) when I think they should have been left up to the audience to decide. Mr Viggo Mortensen is brilliant.

This is one wierd movie, but it's pretty interesting nonetheless. It's really just a disturbing love story with quite a twist of an ending. To see what Fraser becomes at the end is quite... Well... Pretty cool. Definitely a performance I would never have expected from him.

This is a bizarre movie. When I saw it, I was surprised at how many well-known actors were in it and how I never heard of it when it came out. It's not great, but worth seeing for the weirdness. Can't even be explained, really.
