It was a bit difficult for me to be focused on the movie, as a big fan of Ayn Rand's novels & philosophy, particularly because I'm not clear on how accurate it is (I've been told the book on which it's based is a less than reliable source). But as far as the movie goes- the casting was great, and the feel of the whole thing was really nice; I quite liked the directing and the music accompanied it all pretty well. But most of the movie was sex and all the boring relationship stuff involved with it. Helen Mirren was pretty great, though.

Provides a personal look at the insanity of Rand and her whacked out philosophy. While the film is mostly conventional, and the ending is weak, it works because of the performances and the writing. The sex scenes are how shall we say...different...

Helen Mirren, need I said more? Except I absolutely love this quote: "Wise-ass Man: Excuse me, Miss Rand. I was wondering if you could give us the essence of your philosophy - standing on one leg.
