The Pallbearer (1996)

Aspiring architect Tom Thompson is told by mysterious Ruth Abernathy that his best friend, "Bill," has taken his own life. Except that Tom has never met Bill and neither have his incredulous friends. So when Tom foolishly agrees to give the eulogy at Bill's funeral, it sets him on a collision course with Ruth -- who is revealed to be Bill's oversexed mother -- and Julie DeMarco, the longtime crush Tom hasn't seen since they were teens.

I was SOOOO surprised to see SO many famous actors just starting out in this movie. It was a bizarre movie. I give credit to the imagination who came up with it. It was really cool to see David Schwimmer, Toni Collette, Michael Rapparort, Michael Vaghn (from Alias - don't know his real name!), and Gwenyth....and the lady David got involved with. WOW, it was cool to see all these actors so young....I did like it. It was funny at certain parts. Not a blockbuster or anything. And if you look closely - You can even see another guy from Alias....Its funny all the connections....

Pretty fricking bad to say the least. I highly recommend not watching it.

The poster is lying. It is not wildly entertaining.

I enjoyed this movie more than I should have. I related too much to Tom. The eulogy scene is funny and some other parts of the movie present life truthfully. Ultimately, though, its not much better than average.

Strange little black comedy. Worth watching for fans of either lead actor as both do a good job in this film, it's just a little strange - the story.
