An amazing Disney Movie that not nearly enough people have seen! Everyone should see this adorable classic Disney Movie!

I recently watched this movie and really enjoyed it. I think this movie was ahead of its time and is wonderfully politically relevant. Its nice to see Democrats and Rebuplicans battle it out and then come to the realization that they are all American first. As far as musicals go there were only 3 songs I really liked.

Some good songs, great character actors on the sidelines but the story and script could use work as well. As well as the two main characters.

A story that mixes music with politics. Set during the 1888 presidential election between Cleveland/Harrison. Harrison won the electoral college while Cleveland had the most popular votes (similar to Bush/Gore election of 2000). The plot revolved around a family band where the father and his father-in-law (the grandfather) disagreed on the presidential candidates. The family moved to the Dakota Territory and another part of the plot revolved around the territory obtaining statehood (now both North Dakota and South Dakota). One of the musicals staring John Davidson and Lesley Ann Warren.
