Ring of Bright Water (1969)

Stuck in a dead-end job, Graham Merrill adopts an otter, Mij, as a pet and then moves to an isolated village in western Scotland. Together they set out to explore the curious and magnificent natural wonders that surround their seaside home. Soon, Graham finds himself falling in love with the beautiful town doctor, Mary. Before long, the three become inseparable friends.

A beautiful movie. If you like nature, much less otters, and who doesn't like otters, you'll love this movie.

the first movie that I can remember seeing - cried my eyes out as a 6 year old

This movie was good like 'Wendy and Lucy' and 'Harry and Tonto'. Should it be rated G? Heck no! Do not let your child watch this, disturbing ending.

BASED ON A TRUE STORY, THIS IS A TOUCHING AND TRAGIC STORY THAT IS INSPIRING AS WELL. NICE CAST, BEAUTIFUL LOCATION SCENERY. I'M NOT TOO INTO "ANIMAL" FILMS, BUT THIS IS ONE OF THE BETTER ONES.
