What makes this gripping graphic novel adaptation so distinctive is the trust it places in its audience to stay glued through the quiet, character-building interludes threaded among excitingly varied fight scenes that crescendo in an expertly choreographed showdown.

The Old Guard shows that, in the hands of a smart writer and director, something can be made of it that’s worthy of our attention. This genre can grow. Let’s hope it does.

This was an amazing action romp with some surprisingly good fantasy elements! Two very strong female leads. It had a slightly lackluster villain though, but set it up for a perfect villain in the sequel.

Another forgettable and predictable Netflix film. Story has a cool concept but it is dragged through the mud by uninteresting characters with baffling motivations and a plot that goes absolutely no where. The choice of music in this film was trash and annoying and so was the villain. The movie did have Charlize Theron and some alright action scenes though but god damn was this movie a chore to get through.

I was quite surprised. I didn't expect a good movie but I was wrong. The acting was not excellent but no bad either. Not an excelent story but in the overall quite good. At some points I remembered the "Highlander". Quite good actions scenes. At the end of the movie you will find some female-centric tendencies but it is the tendency nowadays. Overall it is a entertaining movie. I would sure watch a sequel since there are a lot of questions unanswered.
