The Object of Beauty (1991)

American couple Jake and Tina are living in an expensive London hotel above their means, incurring a sizeable debt. When they are asked to pay a lavish dinner bill and Jake's card is declined, he suggests they sell Tina's tiny, expensive Henry Moore sculpture to cover the debt. After they hatch a scheme to claim the sculpture was stolen in order to collect insurance on it, the sculpture mysteriously goes missing.

This looks lustrous (thanks to cinematographer David Watkin) but it's bankrupt in terms of ideas and execution and both leads seem uninspired.

This sporadically amusing comedy is made rather irritating by the way in which the actors clearly think they're being very funny.

This is a scathing satire on a money-obsessed culture, but it's so cool and detached in tone and style that it fails to entertain.

It was a good film but theres not much story in it. Very average i mean it just shows a group of people caught up with one expensive object stolen, simple to understand. I think it coveys the message that being rich is not easy as it seems. There some moments where it tried to be funny but no.
