This was one of the best movies I've seen this year. The plot is character driven, and follows the father/son archetype from innocence to dysfunction. Included are interesting images of the changing social norms of the 70s, discussions of psychology and memory theory, and nostalgic interweaves of classic 70s music. The predictability of the end did not take away from its poignancy. I highly recommend this film.

Full of great music and nostalgic memories of the 60s and 70s, this movie ceased to amaze me. Music Therapy has great powers and this movie shows it at its cutting edge.

Stunning performances by both J.K. Simmons and Lou Taylor Pucci in this great film of a struggling father/son relationship. The music is amazing. You don't need to be a Dead Head in order to enjoy this movie but it won't hurt.
