This was a strange one, and may leave wondering 'what the f&%4k!' Main character Kelly Macdonald escapes her physically abusive husband and starts a new job in a new city across the country only to be caught up in between a cop who is interested in her and a suicidal killer who seems to be killing off a list of people, although we never actually find out what that is all about in the movie. This movie was not really all that suspenseful, but it is interesting in that it leaves you wondering what it was all about and lots unexplained plot.

Solid but not spectacular directing gig for star Michael Keaton. A sombre affair about two unlikely characters meeting and forming a friendship. Kelly Macdonald is well cast and Michael Keaton is always watchable.

Keaton is good, McDonald with her spooky equanimity and still-waters profundity even better. Sartre's Huis Clos? Forget that. This is hell, as moodily atmospheric as low-budget screen infernos get.

I'm really starting to think that Michael Keaton is not getting roles because of his skills, but simply because he feels he doesn't need to do many roles. Or at least thats what i am hoping. This is a small wonderful little film about two people who are so strange and so different with souls that are so similar. Michael Keaton not only stars in this film, but directs it as well. Its really to bad this film didn't get released into many theaters, and most people will miss out on this gem, because I think Keaton deserves a best actor nomination, and with the Academy Awards now having 10 best picture nominees, this would fall right in, and it probably would make my top 5 even without the expansion of the best picture category.
