"A Flauta Mágica" Deveria passar na Sessão da Tarde pra dar um pouco de cultura pro bando de batatas que assiste aquele programa. Nunca tinha assistido a uma ópera antes, nem nunca fui numa. Esperava que fosse algo bem chato, minhas espectativas eram baixíssimas. Achava que dormiria ou não aguentaria ver até o fim de tão longa a duração (em comparação a maioria dos filmes do Bergman)... mas achei bem legal e o tempo passou voando. Assistiria outras óperas depois de ver essa (se forem tão divertidas quanto). O único problema é o tema/ambiente, tããão fantasioso, parece Willow na Terra da Magia encenado. Odeio esses filmes fantasiosos-fantásticos, mas este achei legal, talvez porque não tinham anões nem fadas haha. O Papageno parece o Sam do Senhor dos Anéis. Mesma cara, mesmo jeito, mesmo papel secundário, haha. Muito divertido e ótimas músicas. "Excelente entretenimento pra família toda" deveria estar escrito na caixa.

I liked the idea of setting the opera during WWI. Unfortunately, it was muddled by some corny elements in the acting, visual effects, and directing, losing a sense of sincere reverence for the original work by Mozart. Disappointing as that might be, there was a handful of beautiful imagery that was stunning and thought provoking during this film. My two favorite sequences would be the meeting of Tamino and Pamina in the trenches and the Papageno and Papagena song.

different from seeing it on the theater, interesting to put it into a war theme but love the music much its hard to not like any verson of the production......still think the queen was the misunderstood

I thought I was doing well until I saw that I was half an hour into a 2 and a half hour movie and then I slipped out into the night.

I saw this in Manchester over Christmas holiday. I thought it was a fun romp and an exciting way to experience Mozart. Even my boyfriend, who has a rather sophomoric and rudimentary appreciation for opera, did not look completely bored during the film, so I count that as a net positive. A fun-spirited way to spend 2.25 hours.
