I just finished my BA-thesis written on Shaun Tan's "Tale From Outer Suburbia" and celebrated by giving his Oscar winning "The Lost Thing" a first viewing. Needless to say this excellently animated short film, based on the picture book by the same name, manges to fully feature the poetic philosophy, the social dichotomy and narrative complexity that often get reflected in Tan's work. This is an opus by a creative genius!

This is an Aussie short animated film that has been nominated for best Oscar. It's based on a beautifully illustrated children's book by Melbourne based Shaun Tan. the animation is wonderful and quite surreal. Great stuff.

I think a lot of people can relate to this film. Every once in a while, we feel like we don't belong. All we want is to feel belonged. Why not see this film?
