(Mauro Lanari) If you don't have (or worse: if it suits you not to have) new ideas, parody the old ones. In adventure cinema, perhaps this current trend began with the movies with "The Rock", and "The Lost City" does not deviate from such approach by adding to it a metareferential element: the love story between the couple of protagonists has the upper hand over the adventure just like in the novels written by the character of the 57-year-old Bullock. So in in essence it's a normal romcom but disguised as who knows what (a suggestion: Zemeckis).

While Bullock and Tatum’s chemistry doesn’t sizzle on-screen, their romantic storyline still manages to make sense. Their hate-to-love journey is paved with laughs — yes, even at Brad Pitt’s expense — and a seemingly genuine camaraderie.

Odd show. A Dumb and Dumber romcom without all the good one liners and an unsatisfactory ending. Worth seeing once. Def too many sexual innuendos.

The Lost City had funny writing and the performances from Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum were excellent and their chemistry was surprisingly amazing.
