Highly underrated movie detailing one of the most brutal experiences of the Western Front in World War I. Also a fantastic introspection into conflict and Americanism.

This is the motto of the film: "US are the best" . The German officers just appear on screen to admire the american spirit, the american soldiers just talk endlessly about how good they are and that they will never surrender. But the most hitting thing is that the war was about to end at that time, the german army was ruined by lack of food and supplies, but they all look disciplined, clean and well supplied in this movie. A simple book like "No News from the Front" by Erich Maria Remarque would show you how bad is this movie.

"Do You Know Who They Are Major"? (They are ####,******,=====,^^^^ gangsters, gangsters from New York. They will never surrender. NEVER,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.) No big names in the cast but a excellent movie based on a true Event.
