The Last Witch Hunter (2015)

The modern world holds many secrets, but by far the most astounding is that witches still live among us; vicious supernatural creatures intent on unleashing the Black Death upon the world and putting an end to the human race once and for all. Armies of witch hunters have battled this unnatural enemy for centuries, including Kaulder, a valiant warrior who many years ago slayed the all-powerful Witch Queen, decimating her followers in the process. In the moments right before her death, the Queen cursed Kaulder with immortality, forever separating him from his beloved wife and daughter. Today, Kaulder is the last living hunter who has spent his immortal life tracking down rogue witches, all the while yearning for his long-lost family.

Remember "Constantine" with Keanu Reeves? Change "Angels" to "Witches" and you've got this movie. So, not much to see here: Vin Diesel plays himself, as always. The rest of the cast is forgettable, except Michael Cain (not because of his performance but because of who he is). Character development? Zero. Interesting plot? Nah. Watching some spells being cast is the only "highlight" here ; the story is - nuances aside - predictable and most of the times hilariously over-the-top simplistic. Still waiting for a more interesting movie in this particular genre to come out - although, after this one, I think the demand for this kind of movie will universally be at a low for quite some time.

For what it is its a fun film. Don't go into it expecting an Oscar worthy performance. But if you go into it expecting Vin to kick some but and blow some stuff up then you'll be happy

It's Vin Diesel, people. Did you expect a masterpiece? I actually enjoyed this one. I went in expecting to be entertained and was pleasantly surprised. I love cheesy fantasy along the likes of Van Helsing, Stardust, the Underworld series or Dragonheart. The Last Witch Hunter has now been added to that list. Graphics aren't horrible, acting is decent and the plot was entertaining. I'm hoping this turns into a trilogy and brings more entertainment.

A Really Great movie did not understand all the hate. The plot was a little unorganized but, over all loved it!
