The Killers (1946)

Two hit men walk into a diner asking for a man called "the Swede". When the killers find the Swede, he's expecting them and doesn't put up a fight. Since the Swede had a life insurance policy, an investigator, on a hunch, decides to look into the murder. As the Swede's past is laid bare, it comes to light that he was in love with a beautiful woman who may have lured him into pulling off a bank robbery overseen by another man.

One of the best film noir movies you could see. Excellent story line,great performances from Burt Lancaster and Ava Gardner the ultimate femme fatale.Great Show

Another film noir. I liked it better than Double Indemnity, but I'm starting to realize that I'm not that impressed with the Film Noir genre.

Beautifully nuanced film, intricate storyline, note perfect performances, just perfect. So lucky to see this on the big screen today from a new print, amazingly they use to crank these out by the yard back then.

good movie good plot set in 1946 cannon was one of the hit men the old cars had suicide doors.

The movie started off kind of slow, but as the details emerged with the robbery and what The Swede did, the suspense picked up and the film got a little bit more interesting. I must be a complete 45, but until now I didn't realize that that was Burt Lancaster in this film. And Ava Gardner? I'm a moron.
