The Iron Petticoat (1956)

Captain Vinka Kovalenko defects from Russia, but not for political reasons. She defects because she feels discriminated against as a woman. Captain Chuck Lockwood gets the order to show her the bright side of capitalism, while she tries to convince him of the superiority of communism. Naturally, they fall in love, but there's still the KGB, which doesn't like the idea of having a defected Russian officer running around in London.

this over-the-top movie is totally worth watching for Katharine Hepburn's phony Russian accent and zany costumes!

wow umn just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch...its got a good cast of actors/actressess throguhout this movie...i think that bob hope. katharine hepburn, noelle middleton. robert helpmann, james robertson justice play good roles/parts throughout this movie..i think that the director of this comedy movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie its a good movie 2 watch n its a good 1950's movie with a good cast throguout this movie

no longer out of print I caught this on TCM (love u guys) it is a reworked version (#3) of 'ninotchka' behind the greta garbo version and the musical version 'silk stockings"

My 1st Katharine Hepburn film, and by no means my last... This film is moderately average ~~~ not bad at all in fact... I like the scene where the Russians are trying to capture Katharine back, but end up taking hostage the wrong one....hehe
