An alright movie, but nothing special. If they'd sped it up a bit so it didn't drag so much, it would've been much better. The ending was very good, but it couldn't redeem the rest of the movie.

Moreno makes this absolutely watchable and their relationship and break up are extremely believeable. The weakness of the film the last 30 min or so, because Moreno is pretty much absent who is the fire of the film.

never read the book, but the dialogue and the acting was excellent...kinda odd seeing Ethan Hawke play father to a twenty-one year old character...looking forward to seeing more of the actress Catalina
