... A pleasant enough experience in which you should easily be able to find someone or something to relate to in it.

The Hollars is one of the most uplifting, funny, emotional, and riveting films I've seen this year, and it's easily the most underrated film of 2016, and one of the year's best films so far!

Thankful for this film and these wonderful actors (across the board) who brought it to life. Can't remember the last time I audibly cried and laughed in public the way I did in this movie. Margo Martindale is pure joy, and the chemistry she and Krasinski have as mother and son is something special. Stick with the audience on this one, the critics got it wrong. There's enough cynicism in the world, and this movie was a most welcome reprieve!!

A really likeable cast and the nice mix of comedy and drama.

There is little to commend in James C. Strouse's screenplay outside the mother-son relationship at its core and indeed, Krasinski's best decision here was in hiring Margo Martindale whose performance is the only real reason to see this movie.
