Housewife Annie Marsh suspects her husband might be The Hawk, a brutal serial killer. Complicating matters is the fact that she once was incarcerated in a psychiatric hospital. When she discovers she does not have the happy marriage she always believed and begins to piece together the times and dates of her husband's frequent absences, her fears begin to take hold, and her sanity deteriorates.

Monday, March 31, 2014 (1992) The Hawk SUSPENSE THRILLER Helen Mirren practically had to carry this movie on her shoulders, for it's effectiveness may have been better had it been short and tighter. She plays Annie Marsh, a housewife of two children, suspecting that her husband can possibly be a serial killer, people are calling "The Hawk" because victims are usually found with their eyes gauged out which is similar to what a hawk would do. With a fast forward button on specific scenes while playing on some unnecessary scenes, this movie isn't that bad, considering what the actors/ actresses had to work with. Some viewers may be disappointed with the fact, that there's no explanation regarding the serial killer's motivations for going on to this killing spree in the first place. 2.5 out of 4 stars

This provided a good chance for Helen Mirren to move on from her Prime Suspect television series, and she provides a reasonably good performance. It's just a shame that the film isn't very good.

Despite the title, not a biography of former Montreal Expos outfielder Andre Dawson. That would have been better. Here, a woman suspects her husband is a serial killer who actually turns out to be his best friend. Failed to create much suspense.
