This movie is amazing! They don't make movies like this anymore!

I love musicals, and I really enjoy Judy Garland's singing. Her acting is usually more than adequate and it was here. A thin plot, thin storyline on which to hang several fun song and dance numbers. The real surprise for me was Angela Lansbury who played femme fatale with a quiet panache. And why don't we have leading men that have huge toothy grins like John Hodiak anymore? A question that has too long gone unanswered.

I just LOVE Judy. The music in this film were wonderful, and the costumes were amazing as well!

For a musical I would have to say the songs are probably the worst part of this movie - apart from the song as the train arrives in town, that's a damn catchy tune. What really works for this film is the story, the blend of characters both wholesome and uh trampy... and some great comedic performances - esp Judy as she enters the bar holding the two guns - probably my favourite scene from the whole film.

One of my favorites. John Hodiak is handsome and the romance between him and Garland is amazing.
