Seeking to raise his credibility as an actor and to land a role as a tough cop on a new show, Hollywood action star Nick Lang works a deal with New York City Police Capt. Brix, who by chance is one of his fans. Nick will be paired with detective Lt. John Moss and learn how to act like a real cop. But when Nick drives John crazy with questions and imitating him, he gets in the way of John's pursuit of a serial killer.

A great Film. Not as much Fans as it should have, but I love it. One of the first Films I saw I believe. I recommend this to any Fan of Action, maybe Adventure, Comedy, and Romance.

Good action spoof buddy flick, and there were some clever lines and impressive car stunts. The bad guy, Stephen Lang, was so nuts it was great. This reminded me in some ways of 'Beverly Hills Cops'. "Stop the car!" "Drop the gun!" "Stop the car!" "Drop the gun!"

I haven't seen this film since it came out but remember that it was a pretty good action movie that sought to turn the conventions of the "buddy cop" genre on its head as a tough NYPD detective (James Woods) is pulled off a case persuing a psychotic vigilante to escort a spoiled lightweight movie star (Michael J. Fox) who wants a shot at playing a cop in a serious drama but no one will consider him for the role because he has been cast as a handsome "Indiana Jones" type in a popular series of lightweight action films. This strangely mirrored Fox's own movie career, he had spent his career after FAMILY TIES ended on TV trying to break into serious drama roles but Hollywood wanted another BACK TO THE FUTURE.

Totally underrated film. Great acting by Michael J Fox, however James Woods, for me, steals the show. Although a 90s feel film, script is still so funny. This is a witty, fast well written, action packed, silly and great fun - please - - - watch it.
