has that ballad of the green berets song playing throughout. some people slag this off as a pointless propaganda movie, but when its a movie made about vietnam in 1968, what the fuck do you expect? this one dude gets hit by a huge log with spikes in it

After the first 15 minutes it's a completely unremarkable glory flick. Still, you've got to admire the stones on John Wayne for making this kind of movie about Vietnam.

While too many people dismiss it as "right wing propaganda", this movie does show the brutality of the Viet Cong and it is not as pro-war as people make it out to be (Watch the ending and you will see) There is the left wing mentality that every American in Vietnam did nothing more than pillage and rape - not all Allied soldiers were like that as quite a few did make friends with the locals. Out of politics, this movie put out the classic John Wayne acting, which makes you want to say "C'mon John Wayne, get the bad guys"

this one hits home for all of us . I dont like fit or war but you got to see this one. It is od but one of the bast.
