This one a wee bit fucked up. the girl is writer wannabe, works in a publisher but is afraid of writing anything. One friend of her parents is a successful writer, and when she was a teen, she had a romance with the writer. YAH when she was a teen like 14/15/16 Like WTF! From that romance, the writer writes his best seller book, the book is basically the girl life. when he publishes the book, the girl notice that its her life and tells her parents the truth, but they dont believe. know she is a grown woman and the guy is re-publishing the book, so she decides to write the true story about that book. i was not comfortable watching the scenes with the teen girl and the guy, it was very creepy.

Really enjoyed this movie. It is very well acted and filmed. Emily Vancamp is excellent and as usual Michael Nyqvist is fantastic. The supporting cast does a good job of holding their own as well. Their is a lot of tension in the movie and It gets pretty creepy when Milan is making his moves on young Alice, but it is handled very tastefully. (As tasteful as that subject matter can be handled anyhow). I do wish it didn't end so quickly though.

Though its resolution is a bit pat, most of The Girl in the Book is a smart and pointed look at abuses of power and roles women too often play in the literary world.

Cohn handles all the performers very deftly.

This is a spare-seeming film with most of its characters being broadly-sketched stereotypes, yet the emotional journey of the main character is just about strong enough to maintain interest in the proceedings.
