When word hits the street that a nearby elderly gentleman has a cache of old, rare, and very valuable mint condition comic books, rival comic book shop owners Raymond McGillicuddy (Donal Logue) and Norman Link (Michael Rapaport) both set out to be the first to buy them. But when the old man declines to sell, the former friends turn into enemies, and a friendly rivalry becomes tainted with greed and turns to murder.

I was hoping for a dark comedy, but this isn't it. It's a mix of Resevoir Dogs and Mallrats that never approaches the cleverness of either. It's somehow entertaining, but despite a strong cast, it's not anywhere near as good as it could have been. But Cary Elwes turns in a fantastic performance that borders on Walkenesque at points and reminds us that even though he sucked in Saw, he's still a great actor.

True to life characters being forced to act unrealistically. Its a shame really because had they gone for a less ridiculous conflict the last half of this would have been entertaining. Heck, even the characters that won and loss could have come out the same.

This is a pretty unknown dark comedy staring some semi-big names. If you like dark crime comedies like Big Trouble, Death to Smoochy, and The Big Nothing, then this movie is for you. If you hate talky witty dialog-filled indy movies, then stay away. This is the Pulp Fiction of comic book movies as two competing comic book collectors try to stop the other from getting their hands on a comic collection worth millions before the other does. The movie has enough witty banter, double-crossings, unexpected deaths and murders to make any fan of the genre happy. Although, with those good things said, the acting is kind of bad at times. not always, but there are times it is. Also, the movie could have been tightened up a bit and had 10-15 minutes shaved off, easily, as the movie does kind of move at a snail's pace until the last 15 minutes.

I love Cary Elwes and have since I was little, so I sat through this. I shouldn't have. It's mildly funny for about 25 minutes and then just becomes completely useless. It's not quirky or particularly witty, most of the acting is terrible, and even though I usually like her, Natasha Lyonne is unbearably annoying in this role. Not a fan at all and I will not be likely to ever watch this again.

The subject matter caught my attention, but the cast drew me in. While showing respect for the 'the golden age of comix' it simultaneously pokes fun at today's overzealous comic fans.
