New Fist of Fury (1976)

A brother and sister escape from Japanese-occupied Shanghai to Japanese-occupied Taiwan, to stay with their grandfather who runs a Kung-Fu school there. However, the master of a Japanese Kung- Fu school in Taiwan has plans to bringing all other schools on the island under his domination, and part of his plan involves the murder of the grandfather.

A jackie Chan remke of Bruce Lees fist of Fury, add's it's own socil comments on the reltionship between China and Japan s well as altering the dynamics of the plot without actually changing the story. Well worth seeing

Not much in terms of entertainment. Jackie has three types of films, his older chop socky flicks when he was starting out, the modern ones he's famous for, and some newer stuff that isn't that good. This is in the first category, and its one of the lesser ones. There is a nice fight scene with a three-section-staff vs sai, but not a very effective film. The 2 hour running time really hurts it and I only watched this to complete all of Chan's films.

Heavy on the story, which isn't very good. The few fight scenes that are shown aren't very impressive and really the film just crawls by. The final fight scene has Jackie wielding nunchaku, which I've never seen him do previously, and he uses them as well as you'd expect. The very end of the movie is awful, shameful, and bad. Best to skip this one.

This sequel of Fist of Fury seems to be the spirit of Bruce Lee lives on... Jackie Chan! Absolutely cool martial arts movie like the original one between the enemy of Chineses and Japaneses. Chan fights more tougher, deadlier and more vengeance-filled in his role. And I recognized a Chinese actress Nora Miao who appeared in Bruce Lee's original movie as his girlfriend, Yuan Le-erh, who survived and escape from Shanghai to Taiwan made her rights to keep her kung-fu school like her late master. And Chan also appeared in a small role as one of Chinese kung-fu students and double stunt of the villain Suzuki when he is kicked back through the large paper windows.

Jackie's first starring role, back when he was credited as Jacky and didn't have the eyelid surgery yet. The transfer is terrible, cutting off the left and right side of the shot. Great fights at the end, shocking finale. Too long.
