In the half-light of dawn, Halil falls down dead, murdered. His wife, Elmas, cries for justice, but, in fact, there will be no investigation. Life goes on for Elmas: during the day she works in the rice paddies with her little boy and, at night, she goes to catch frogs with the other villagers.

A creepy, skin-crawler. Over the top soap opera with amphibians and spiders and snakes, oh my!

Two stars for the many scenes with a disgusting amount of live frogs and toads. If this film were to be remade by the SyFy channel today, I'm sure it would be filled with CGI frogs, but this film works because you know it's all real-life, icky, slimy, honest-to-goodness frogs. Ray Milland slums it and Sam Elliott and Joan Van Ark pays their dues.

This movie is hilarious because the frogs (after which the movie is named) never do a single thing in the movie. They show up and just sit there, as frogs are wont to do, causing people to freak out and do something stupid like run into a plate of glass.
