Flowers of War is a brutal, horrific film at times. It takes place during one of the worst war crimes ever committed in history-the Nanking massacre. Christian Bale delivers one of his best performances an American mortician who through a series of extremely evil circumstances, becomes the caretaker of a group of school girls, and a group of prostitutes. Unlike in most films where violence is celebrated and war is glorified, Flowers of War shows it's disgusting side. The impact of war on the civilians who have done nothing, and the war crimes committed by the invading countries. There's never a dull minute, as the director does not waste his time in setting up an extremely hostile, extremely violent environment where anyone can be killed. Flowers of War is a moving film, and possibly one of the best films produced last year.

ADOREI!

Great great movie Based on real historical events. Stunning visual effects, balanced and objective story telling, very good actors. Beautiful, touching, zhang yimou's best film yet. Definitely one of the best Chinese movies ever made. P.s. Half of the cinema was crying today in Beijing.

By far one of the best films I've seen in a while.

One of the best war films I've seen! The story, the plot, the characters, the cinematography; they were all brilliant! :)
