Chabrol has been making and remaking this film for six decades now. He seemingly will never tire of explaining how tired he is of the petit bourgeoisie.

terrible, es una prmoción del renault twingo!! es el personaje más frecuente en la cinta.

Each of the characters in the film is so real, so fully drawn, that you feel you know him or her as a person, not as fiction.

Matt Kelemen 29 Mar 2004

Chabrol's major theme seems to be that life is cyclical and history repeats.

It's a melodrama more than a drama, a light thriller –- which is not to say that it is not wonderfully entertaining and satisfying. In fact, it is both.
