I thought that the ending was ironic and in no way did it take away from this very watchable movie. Duvall and Caine are excellent and Sutherland does his best with an, at times, annoying character. Made in '76, TEHL still has lasting appeal.

Other than missing the first 20 minutes, this was a good movie! All the actors were well cast and, though most would not like the Nazis' portrayed as anything more than monsters, I was glad to see that these characters were portrayed as being human and that "monstrousity" can be viewed from all sides. A definitely must see ! (as I must find it and see the beginning now!)

Classic world war II movie. Great acting and story. Forget special effects. Just enjoy.

Michael Caine, Donald Sutherland Directed by: John Sturges ..........This 1976 adventure story set in World War II concerns a Nazi plot to kidnap Churchill from his retreat--or murder him if need be. The large, great cast and a director, John Sturges, who's been down this road of ensemble action before
