it great. yea i no it look really fake and there r sputid part. but come on spencer tracy and old blue frank sinatra r great one as a drunk priest trying to save his hospital and Sinatra just a bad ass.

The film tries to include several important and moralistic themes, but it is the stern disaster adventure and dominant personalities of Tracy and Sinatra that make the movie.

Entertaining disaster melodrama from director Mervyn LeRoy. It gets off to a slow start, and is pretty hokey with some heavy-handed spiritual messages toward the end - but the exotic locale, colorful characters, and solid old-fashioned storytelling keep it compelling, and there are some fun vintage special effects. Not any kind of classic, but an entertaining old-fashioned potboiler.
