Maine Congressman Charlie Winship has had a bad day. After being caught on video failing to stand and recite the pledge of allegiance, he knocks out another House member, confronts his angry ex-wife, and faces denunciation by the media for attacking one of the most cherished patriotic symbols in America. As his life spirals out of control, Charlie embarks on a journey to a remote island in the Atlantic whose eccentric inhabitants are in the middle of a shooting war over their fishing grounds. Loved it. Good story and great actors. Thoughtful study of what it means to be an American. Everyone should see this, especially during this disturbing election season.

This is really bad. I would have left after the first 40-minutes except the two people I went with had fallen asleep and I didn't want to wake them up to leave. Dialogue is predictable; screenplay is unoriginal and boring; and the characters are one-dimensional. This wouldn't crack the after-midnight line-up on the Hallmark Channel.

Best movie I have seen in a while. It frames American patriotism in a beautiful, engaging, thought provoking piece of art. Watching this movie is time well spent.
