The Chambermaid is a facinating look at voyeurism from the point of view of a queer Chambermaid, Lynn. Lynn herself is a reserved figure. She rarely speaks, just watches. This is a film that is complex in its simplicity and gives us a direct link to the gaze of someone who films usually ignore.

The funny bits are funny, and the creepy bits creepy, while Haeb's unobtrusive style captures with great beauty the tenderness and excitement of burgeoning romance.
