The Case Against 8 is just as much a courtroom drama, a soap opera and a family channel special feature as much as it's an LGBTQ anthem because it's about people first, politics second and the fear and loathing that lasts without reason.

So good and so interesting. I didn't know quite a bit. The story of the lawyers coming together after being opponents is remarkable and Ted Olsen is a hero. Most poignant line is something like "It is discouraging how much time we spend fighting with our own community". One of my biggest frustrations of progressive groups. And lastly, watching with my dad is super sweet.

The Case Against 8 makes great history, but as a documentary it doesn't really break any new ground.

While the outcome is already known, this doc plays like a taut legal thriller, gripping and emotional until the very end. It brought back the anger and frustration we all felt when Prop 8 passed, but ultimately, justice prevailed. The joy of the plaintiffs when they finally get married is palpable and beautiful. Highly recommend.
