"Likeable crazy, combined with visual stylistics and driven by a sense of humor, this madcap Chinese martial arts" is worth a watch. Fun eye candy.

This coarse, complicated period comedy is unlikely to catch on with mainstream U.S. audiences, while fans of contemporary Chinese movies will compare it-mostly unfavorably-to Stephen Chow's equally broad but more graceful action comedies.

Visually stylish. The stories about the characters of Masanobu Ando & Zhang Yuqi are actually quite interesting. The problem is, I can't really stand its nonsense, farcical, modern tone, elements & narrative throughout the whole feature; could be a decent good one otherwise.

What the heck, this had some promise and a few cool parts, but it is visually all over the place, and some of the story and acting is just terrible, so it was kinda disappointing.
