I loved this movie, I'm surprised it got such a low rating.

This movie was right up my alley. It was dark and quirky and just weird enough to carry the concept until the end. The lead actors were instantly likable as a young couple who didn't end up quite where they thought they would as grownups and found a magical shortcut to make all their dreams come true. Very funny cautionary tale.

This movie sat on the long list of movies I haven't watched for quite awhile because I didn't think it would interest me. After finally watching it, I found this plot quite unique and resulting in a discussion with my partner of how far we would actually go to insult pain on another. Very interesting film, history included. Cast played their parts very well.

This has quickly become one of my favorite movies. It's very well written and moving. Juno Temple is incredible as usual! It's one of those films that has a message that sticks with you long after watching. I recommend it to everyone!

Fractured fairy tale about a struggling young couple who chance upon a magical brass teapot that fills itself with money whenever one of them suffers pain. They further discover that the teapot pays out for emotional pain, and later for the pain of others. Meanwhile, a Chinese man appears on their doorstep claiming to be a sworn emissary intending to rid the world of this destructive device, warning how it has ruined the lives of every previous owner. Despite the weighty implications, the movie never gets overly serious, the right balance is struck between drama and comedy while a few shrewd twists keep the premise from going stale. Enjoyable if slight with engaging performances from leads Michael Angarano and Juno Temple, who occupies a very authentic American accent.
