[Isabel Coixet's] movies tend to be a little on the safe and vague side, and I think this movie falls into both of these traps.

I loved this film. A gentle meander through the stifling social scene of small minded middle England. Well worth investing a couple of hours.

Superb acting, Will appeal to book lovers but not to enthusiasts of car chases/wrecks, gunfights and other sorts of mayhem. Somewhat slow paced, with a fairly predictable plot and finale, but you will leave the theater pleased with the experience.

There was a point early on where some made a decision to jump off and rate it a stinker. I stayed for the rest of the trip. No regrets. Would like to spend a long weekend in that town.
