Maybe the best movie made about Hollywood. Kirk Douglas plays one of the screen's most charming villains in this melodramatic Minnelli masterpiece. The camera swoons over the actors, especially Lana Turner. Her agent is hilarious by the way. A very good film for all, but a great film for film history buffs who will recognize references to classic Hollywood throughout.

Kirk Douglas is fantastic in this behind the scenes look at a Hollywood producer who would do anything to get to the top, even if it means hurting some feelings along the way. The performances are all top notch and story plays out like what else? A Hollywood movie. Grade: A-

A great look into Hollywood post-Sunset Blvd. There are plenty of good scenes-behind-the-scenes. Kirk Douglas' screen presence is very powerful here as well.
