It's fun, in an imperialist, colonialist, patronizing, exotic-marginalized-foreigners way.

Lighthearted and whimsical farce from an era of innocence, features beautiful Francoise Dorleac (sister of Catherine Deneve) and Jean-Paul Belmondo in his best comic role. The world is a beautiful and happy place in this spoof of machismo and daring-do.

We don't think of Belmondo as an action star per se, but that's what he is here, smirking like Steve McQueen and managing to keep a cigarette clamped between his lips even when he's navigating hairpin turns on a motorbike.

Incredible pre-James Bond flick, amazing that Belmondo did all of his own stunt work. What a concept of chasing your kidnapped girlfriend halfway across the world to save her. This is a classic and a must see.
