This film has to be seen to be believed or burned at the stake for sheer wretchedness.

Ok, so Bo Derek is for sure in the top 5 most attractive movie stars of all time in my book... but thats the only thing that was good about this Tarzan tale... D+

Intended as a starring vehicle for Bo Derek and directed by her husband, John Derek, this awful excuse for an adventure film was panned by the critics and dubbed "The little Bo peep show" as the heroine spent a good portion of the film in the nude. Unfortunately, it didn't help and the poor direction, bad acting, and mediocre script (not to mention the infamous fight scene with the rubber snake) make it the worst of the Tarzan films. Where is Johnny Weissmuller when we need him?

I wish there was better directing and the story with savages were terrible .. it wasn't neccessary. Bo I think was good for the movie, but her acting was not very good in this one but I think she could have if there was a different director. Oh well, but I did like the jungle including Tarzan struggle with the snake.

Embarrassingly incompetent ego project, or inadvertent absurdist masterpiece? Why can't it be both? Richard Harris devours scenery while Bo Derek stumbles through her lines (often while topless) in a lush and geographically questionable jungle setting, and when O'Keeffe's beefcake Tarzan shows up, it really falls off the deep end into an almost hypnotic ridiculousness - though Perry Botkin's melodramatic score seems to know what's up. One of the worst movies ever made, sure, but it really deserves some credit, this film is an experience.
