Feels like wiki-cinema that simplifies the complexity of an interesting historical figure. This seems like a major missed opportunity to get at something more.

Hunter comes across as genial and private, a gentle fellow who prefers raising horses (a lifelong interest) to showbiz.

A very interesting and entertaining documentary about one of the most famous heartthrob of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Tab Hunter has definitely had an unusual path but his story ins incredibly interesting and the man has an aura of incredible beauty even in his old age. Jeffrey Schwartz has crafted a nice portrait of someone who's been growing personally and spiritually all his life and hasn't stopped to. Really interesting.

The movie follows Hunter's life after leaving the Warners, the bad movies and years on the dinner-theater circuit. And it reveals something stronger: the quiet refusal, beneath Hunter's affable, casual manner, to be anything less than he is, neither the "sigh guy" nor a convenient symbol of gay pride.
