Incantevole e tenero, con una grande Katherine Hepburn giovanissima, en travesti per buona parte del film

Shakespeare's lost film script...it has all the marks. Gender confusion, vagabond performers, and love triangles. It's the oddest film from the 30s I've seen, I think. But it was a nostalgic treat in this action film-obsessed culture. Cary Grant is fantastic, to boot.

A peculiar, rather audacious gender-bender tale, with Katharine Hepburn as a man for most of the film, keeping Cary Grant (and us) on his toes.

Gender bending - girls kissing girls, boys wondering why they are attracted to boy and drag. 1935? 77 years later and films like these are a rarity. Its amazing to think how "modern and progressive" this concept was and equally amazing to think how conservative some of us are today.

Silly, enjoyable nonsense, can anything with Grant & Hepburn in it be all that bad? i think not, Hepburn is pretending to be boy for the first half of the film and doesn't do too bad a job, we have Grant as a cockney conman and all sorts of shenanigans occur.
