Most viewers are probably turned off by this film's admittedly disturbing story line. Yet it is the amount of discomfort that this film provokes that I find so intriguing. Brutally honest, darkly funny, featuring meticulous cinematography and featuring a totally downplayed performance by Karen Colston, this film is worth sitting through, no matter how difficult it is.

Campion's style is very interesting, searching into the story, it feels a bit like a novel. Didn't like the story though. I found it cold, disturbing.
