B-movie revenge drama with some action. Human Trafficking

On the surface it really does feel like it's nothing more then a cheap cover for an excuse to make a TnA flick. It's a nice modern take on the old style 70's revenge film. It's got a great energy, an engaging story, some bad-ass, albeit low-rent kill scenes, and yes, the performance from the first-time lead actress is a knock-out. She owns the screen. Granted she plays the role without speaking a word. She is a mute. Whether or not that was a must because she can't act worth a damn or if it was intentional I do not know. But otherwise her face holds a lot of charm and conveys a lot with her expressions. Without speaking a word you end up sympathizing and caring about her. At times the low budgetness of the film shines through but not enough to really hurt it. In the end it won't stand out but worth a look.

Solid low-budget revenge flick starring a sexy, mute woman. "Sweet Karma is an exploitation outing from top to bottom." "the story unfolds in a way that keeps you engaged as a viewer. The pacing of it is spot on, delivering the obligatory kick-ass scene and a intriguing storyline."

Sweet Karma delivers the sweets and the karma but forgot the rest of the order. This little Canadian revenge film is filled with beautiful women in little to no clothing and it adds in a few moments of some ultra violence. Unfortunately, the low budget shows tremendously with poor acting, a terrible script and worst of all... hard to watch cinematography. Who lit this thing? There are scenes so dim that I'd swear I was watching a shot on VHS feature from the 80s if it weren't for the techno soundtrack and modern clothing and hairstyles (even in Euro standards). That aside, watching a film about Toronto based Eastern European human trafficking does hold a little interest for someone like myself... and even if that's not very good, the ladies do their darndest to keep me from noticing the many flaws contained within this low budget flick.

Low budget Canadian revenge movie with human trafficking and strip clubs as the backdrop. I got the feeling the main character is mute only because the Playboy centerfold playing the part isn't much in the acting department, but I don't know that for sure. Nothing really stands out here; even the twist was not a surprise. Passing only for the effort.
