Sweet and lowdown is a brilliant film, the jazz music is great the cinematography is stunning Sean Penn is very good and his mute girlfriend (Samantha Morton) is a scene stealer, a throwback to the Silent days of Cinema. One of Woody Allen's best.

lets see ...sean penn he should have won a award and i hated him in the boston movie and he hasent impressed me sence he was that kid who faught with that spanish actor in the film "bad boys" was that the name anyway i dont think hes done better and probably wont

Another Woody fare which many describe as one of his "love notes," one track but beautiful. The music is stunning and Samantha Morton is adorable and soulful and magnificent. It doesn't pop out in the monolithic melodramas Woody has managed to fashion but by itself it stands up quite well.
