Danny Boyle pays homage to nearly every great science fiction movie from 2001: A Space Odessy to Alien and somehow manages to create something very original and engaging

A nice piece of hard(-ish) Science Fiction, made better through the genius casting of Cillian Murphy and Chris Evans. Danny Boyle did good here, doing his best to make the film as realistic as possible. Yeah sure, using a bomb to re-ignite the Sun is something that's out of reach, even plot wise, but the realism is made true, he did seek the help of Prof. Brian Cox after all (See commentary section of DVD release). Needs to be watched more than once, but highly enjoyable.

Underrated science fiction movies and I think Danny Boyal's best movie. Original and brilliant.

Top notch SF which plays around with some big ideas. It's got the feel of 70s classics such as "Silent Running" and feels like a bit of a throwback, but in a really good way. This would make an excellent double bill with "Moon".

I wanted this film to continue on for hours! Beautiful, original, meaningful, moving...space travel like you have never seen it done before. And, if ever there was a movie made for Cillian Murphy, it would most definitely be..."Sunshine".
