Entertaining, light and yet addresses the questions philosophy and religion have dealt with for centuries. That it is from a Christian perspective was not problematic. Malcolm MacDowell is superb as Satan. His legal team is hilarious.

I've been wondering for a long time now what it would be like if someone actually tried to make a good movie about the struggles we face against the devil and its now been done. And done REALLY well at that! It is charming from start to finish with Malcolm McDowell shinning in every scene. What makes it brilliant though is the way the courtroom scenes becomes a major aspect of the story instead of a cheap gimmick. It is done with perfection and the final scene's payoff is breathtaking. Definitely give this one a shot.

This was a great idea, however they made it about as cheesy as a movie could be. I don't understand why the topic of religion and Christianity can't be put on the big screen without terrible acting and writing. For the love of "God", take the money spent on a dozen of these lame films that attempt to tackle religious topics, and combine them to create 1 decent film that the audience can actually sit through without rolling their eyes.
