The story depicts two star-crossed lovers: Marcus Hanson, a Thai superstar, and Joey Hermosa, a Filipina baker. When Marcus decides to fly to Philippines to escape from his career, he meets Joey. mainstream cheezy story, corny lines and most of all, the language barrier/chemistry between Erich Gonzales and Mario Maurer.

The problem with 'Suddenly It's Magic' is not the story and acting (Rory Quintos handled well her Thai actors), but the lead actor himself. Mario Maurer's effect on women is so magical that it becomes destructive to the point that his on-screen partner, Erich Gonzales, suffers the wrath of women wooing too much in him. Thus, viewers unappreciate their pairing which is supposed to be the heart of this chick flick.
