While the results may be perilously slight, Suburban Gothic’s particular brand of low-key sarcasm and absurdity will tickle those looking for laughs more dry than slapstick (or splatstick) in nature.

I saw this film at LA Screamfest a couple months ago and enjoyed it immensely. Well acted, lots of laughs. I'm disappointed that critics don't seem to be taking to it the same as I did because I can't recall a film I've enjoyed this much in awhile, which is saying a lot since it's Oscar season.

I will start out saying this film is not for everyone, there is major swearing and sexual natured content followed by crude humor that lots of people will not care for, so I highly suggest renting before buying and do not let young kids see this, it's rated R for a reason. After saying all that, the story is slow in progressing and adds humor to the suspense factor, the acting is very well done and you can tell the actors put in a huge part of themselves to the part. This film is for mature audiences and definetly delivers, the paranormal aspect comes into play combined with failed father/son relationship status and the fears of having to move to your old, mysterious town to once again live with your overbearing parents. I loved this movie and can't wait for it to come out on DVD :) lastly, if you can stand very dirty preferences, swearing and have a fondness for crude humor then this movie is a must see.
