Annoying ending. The whole thing just fails to reach its potential.

I did like the Germanic sobriety Wenders applies to the material-you never doubt something is at stake, even if the storytelling pieces don't always pay off.

Veteran director Wim Wenders is comfortable with taking risks and has never been pigeonholed, but his movies have rarely been as static or flat-out boring as this depressing, message-heavy romance.

Want to say something positive. Hard to do. Alicia Vikander and James McAvoy are terrific actors but they have nothing to work with. The script is incoherent and what is the plot?? Is almost guaranteed cure for insomnia.
