i was so convinced it was real documentary. I found it was not real and Malik Bader was Kaspar Carr. All and all is a well good script, acting, and camera movement. Kudos Malik you got me fooled.

This interesting little film about a professional burglar will make you seriously ask yourself if you shouldn't have been a career criminal like the film's subject, Kaspar Karr. I watched it start to finish only to learn it was not a real documentary when I checked it out online afterward. Very, very well done.

I must admit, I thought it was real at first. Maybe that's the way it works best--if you think it's the real deal, you are sucked into it more easily. But then questions are raised. "How would the documentarians not get arrested for being accessories to these burglaries? How are they able to film all this and not get in trouble?" The list of questions goes on. The filmmakers assured the riled-up Tribeca Film Festival crowd that the details of the burglaries were true--that the things you saw thief Kaspar Carr do as he robbed various places were actual processes a street thief goes through to enact true-to-life robberies. But still--to find out that the thief was an actor was a disappointment despite how obvious it was. I was ready and willing to maintain that ever-necessary Willing Suspension of Disbelief during the documentary, but the "mysterious" ending comes off as a bit too hoaxy and makes even the most naive viewer realize that this cannot be real.

Life through the eyes of a street thief, from planning to execution. Pun unintended. He will not allow the documentary film makers to probe his emotional side, only the professional. There is intrigue, murder, unanswered questions. Watch it, and then Google it to find a truth so vile, you will be shocked. This movie is worth a watch, it's fast paced and will keep you longing for more.
